  • Ruby Skilbeck

    Soprano

    Ruby, is currently at the Royal Academy of Music. Previously, Ruby was Head Chorister at Guildford Cathedral, and won BBC Young Chorister 2021. As a soloist, Ruby has performed with the RPO and VOCES8 at the Royal Albert Hall, with the BBC Phil, and has recorded for Songs of Praise, BBC Radio 2 and 4. Ensemble work has included performances with the Rodolfus Choir, LPO, and Genesis Sixteen.

  • Anna Grieve

    Soprano

    Anna Grieve is a soprano studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, learning under Gail Pearson. Anna has enjoyed being a part of many operatic productions including Respighi’s La Bella Dormente nel Bosco (David Seligman Opera School); Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (Sibelius Academy Opera) and Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel (RWCMD). In November 2022, she was the soprano soloist for Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium in Helsinki, working with the Finnish Baroque Orchestra. Anna finds great pleasure in choral work, as an Associate Artist with the Tenebrae Choir and as part of Genesis 16 (2023-2024).

  • Charlotte Sleet

    Alto

    Luton-born, Oxford-based mezzo soprano Charlotte Sleet enjoys a busy freelance career performing choral, consort and solo repertoire. Charlotte was a Choral Scholar and Assistant Lay Clerk at Hereford Cathedral, the first female appointment to these roles in their respective histories. She is currently an alto Lay Clerk at Christ Church Cathedral.

    Charlotte is a long term member of Venice-based L'Offerta Musicale, performing Renaissance and Baroque consort repertoire as part of an ongoing educational workshop and concert series across Italy. She graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2020 (the ideal time to enter the world with an arts degree).

    Outside of the quire stalls Charlotte is a keen cook, a lover of beer and a pathetic athlete. When she grows up Charlotte wants to be a shepherdess.

  • Benjamin Irvine-Capel

    Alto

    Benjamin Irvine-Capel is a Choral Scholar of Exeter Cathedral and an undergraduate at the University of Exeter. Prior to Exeter, he was an Alto in Portsmouth Cathedral Choir, having been a Chorister of St Paul’s Cathedral in London. He has undertaken solo repertoire in oratorio such as Bach’s St Matthew and St John Passions, Handel’s Messiah, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Since moving to Devon, he has performed for concerts with groups such as the University of Exeter Choral Society, Wellington Choral Society, the Dumnonii Consort, and at Powderham Castle.

  • Daniel Marles

    Tenor

    Daniel Marles is a high tenor studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where he regularly performs early music, both in choral and soloistic contexts. He sings high tenor and haute-contre repertoire, and has a love of the music of Montiverdi, Bach and Handel, particularly enjoying singing the music of French Baroque composers.

    Daniel sings with Ex Cathedra under a scholarship, and is part of this year's 23/24 Genesis 16 cohort.

  • Tim Burton

    Tenor

    Tim is a 'Chorister-turned-stage-junkie' who has thrived taking various opera roles at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire whilst studying under Christopher Turner. As a multifaceted musician he has also sung with groups such as The Sixteen and Ex Cathedra, and last year was awarded first place in the Edward Brooks English Song Prize. He is excited to continue his studies at The Royal College of Music on the MMus Programme in September 2024, generously supported by the College with a scholarship.

    Tim has a fascination for stained glass windows and has been known to enjoy Jazz.

  • Ben Watkins

    Baritone

    Ben is currently a freelance soloist and choral singer across the UK. Ben was previously a choral scholar and lay clerk in the choirs of Magdalen College and the Queen’s College, both in the University of Oxford. Ben has performed across Europe chorally and as a soloist, including in Riga, Corfu, Munich, Antwerp and Salamanca. Ben features on mutliple disks with Magdalen College, and has performed live on BBC Radio 3 broadcasts. Recent solo engagements include Bach’s St John Passion (Bass soloist, Pilate) and Christmas Oratorio (bass soloist), Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Stanford’s Songs of the Fleet, and Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs. Ben studies singing in London with David Pollard.

  • Harry Brookes-Owen

    Bass

    Harry started his career at Hereford Cathedral as a chorister in 2009. When his voice changed, Harry was fortunate to gain choral scholarships in many choirs including Hereford Cathedral, St James’ Parish Church Sydney and Portsmouth Cathedral. He is currently in demand across the UK as a freelance bass and frequently works with cathedral and Oxford college choirs including Hereford Cathedral, Magdalen College Oxford and Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. He also works regularly with professional ensembles such as The Armonico Consort and is currently a member of the highly regarded Genesis Sixteen.
